Plain and Simple-The Supreme Court's opinion on the travel ban

The Supreme Court’s Opinion on moving forward the Trump Administration’s challenge to the lower court’s decision to bar the administration’s challenge ban is really simple.

The Supreme Court wrote, “We grant the Government’s applications to stay the injunctions, to the extent the injunctions prevent enforcement of section 2 (c ) with respect to foreign nationals who lack any bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the U.S.”

Here, all the Supreme Court is saying that the president does have the right to use his broad duties as the president of the United States to protect the country from foreigners who are not connected to an American or an American company and who pose a threat to the nation.

In the part of the opinion that supported the International Refugee Assistance Project and states that are opposed to the travel ban, the court said, “We leave the injunctions entered by the lower courts in place with respect to respondents and those similarly situated as specified in this opinion.”

With this statement, the court reasons that folks who are connected to Americans or American companies are protected by the constitution and therefore have a right to enter the United States.
